WINNIPEG, Manitoba (AP)—Daymond Langkow scored early in the third period to help the Calgary Flames beat the Phoenix Coyotes 3-2 in exhibition play Wednesday night. Defensemen Dion Phaneuf and Matt Pelech also scored for Calgary (1-1) in front of a mostly pro-Flames crowd of 12,621 at MTS Centre. Enver Lisen scored two first-period goals to give Phoenix (0-2) a 2-0 lead. The Coyotes franchise left Winnipeg for Phoenix after the 1995-96 season. Phoenix captain Shane Doan, the last remaining Coyote to have played for the Jets, assisted on both goals. The teams will play again Thursday night in Calgary. <http://us.rd.yahoo.com/sports/rss/nhl/SIG=12d7j39rc/*http%3A//sports.yahoo.com/nhl/news?slug=ap-coyotes-flames&prov=ap&type=lgns |
