TELECOMMUNICATOR
The City of Isle of Palms is accepting applications for the position of Telecommunicator. This position involves answering phones including 911, performing radio communications with Police and Fire Departments, having access to confidential records by utilizing the National Crime Information Center terminal, and performing other administrative tasks in support of department operations.
Work is performed on rotating shifts including weekends. Minimum training and experience includes a high school diploma or the equivalent.
Applicants must present a certified typing score of at least 30 words per minute with application. Typing tests will be held at Job Service, 176 Lockwood Boulevard, Charleston.
Salary range is $28,533-$39,946 depending on qualifications. Applicants will be subject to a polygraph examination and thorough background investigation to include criminal history. Upon tentative offer of employment, the successful applicant must undergo a test for drugs.
